Wrinkle reduction

Ask any Baby Boomer about wrinkles. As gravity and the sun combine to prematurely age your skin, thin wrinkles, deeper creases and crow’s feet can become increasingly prominent features on your face. Needless to say, any treatments that lighten or temporarily eliminate wrinkles will make you look younger and, just as importantly, more refreshed.

There are two ways to “smooth” your wrinkles:

1. You can soften wrinkles by relaxing your facial muscles. Botox cosmetic® is a sterile, purified protein that, when injected in small amounts, weakens or paralyzes the area of the muscle where it’s injected for several months. Dr. Cece’s patients love the refreshing, youthful and rejuvenating results of his Botox treatments, and they love the fact, too, that they can go back to work the same day.

2. Collagen injections create similar results with a polar opposite technique. Collagen is a an animal protein “filler” used to “fill in” wrinkles, crow’s feet, folds and creases so you look younger and more refreshed. Like Botox injections, collagen injections can be performed in the office, and you can usually go back to work the same day. Like Botox, they are also temporary and, for maximum benefit, typically need to be repeated every 3-4 months.

Dermabrasion

Because we’re a nation of sun-worshippers, we’re also a nation of faces prematurely wrinkled by the effects. Often these are the deepest of wrinkles, and dermabrasion is a kind of surgery that can be used to smooth them.  It can also smooth deeper scars.  Using a high speed, rotating brush, Dr. Cece carefully removed the top layer of your skin to level that will achieve the best results. This will reveal a layer of pinker, less wrinkled skin that you must carefully treat with sunscreen until it gains its appropriate pigmentation. Patients love the results.

Glycolic peels

Glycolic peels are another way to smooth wrinkles, diminish some scars and reveal the newer, fresher skin below.  In this procedure, Dr. Cece carefully applies the level of chemical that will produce the best results. As with dermabrasion, you must carefully treat the skin with sunscreen until normal pigmentation resumes.

Laser resurfacing

Lasers are highly-specialized, highly-amplified waves of light that can literally vaporize the top layer of the skin. Used with surgical precision, they can significantly diminish the effects of sun-created wrinkles and crow’s feet.

Lesion and scar removal

Let’s face it: Scars happen. Whether yours is from an injury, juvenile acne, a burn or whatever, you’re probably only reading this paragraph if it’s on your face. Depending on their type and size, Dr. Cece may recommend one of several techniques to make them less visible. Just ask him.
